Animal Band, Tibet, circa 1900(?), 4" x 2'6"

It is not common to see these animal bands woven with wool, as they usually appear with a coarse yak hair. The presence of dyes, too, is very atypical.

The red dye appears to be dreived from all natural dyes, with no evidence of any dye run as is common in later weavings from Tibet.

The condition is evident in the photos; there are no repairs, slght staining at one end (never been cleaned).

Price - $350 (including domestic USA shipping)
