Decorative rugs are not my specialty nor do I seldom offer such weavings here.  But this rug came to me and it is a worthy addition to my Recent Acquisition.  Given the fact it is a “decorative” rug, I like the manner in which it is drawn, ie it is not stiff and ‘contrived’ as the weaver retains elements of her indigenous craft and executes the design in rather loose manner, at times.  The border resembles the patterning one might expect to see in a NW Persian carpet.  The condition is perfect, with a heavy handle and very well suited for floor use.  All the colors are derived from natural dyes.
