Kurd Bag Face, NW Persia, late 19th century, 1’ 10” x 3’ 5”
(including flat woven back laid out flat)

A graphic example of weaving from NW Persia.  It exhibits some of the qualities of Bijar weavings, with a heavily depressed warp.  Bags from this area are less common than the rugs, which come from a region known for the workshop rugs.

The condition is ok, there is slight overall and even wear but no holes at all, or repairs.  The colors are all derived from natural dyes.
