Rock But No Roll

This large ‘rock’, located in Mahaballipuram, is called “Krishna’s Butterball” in local lore.   The topography of the region is amazing with large areas of rock and stone, out of which, at times, complete temples have been carved.

Apparently, a Pallava king (8th century AD) tried to move this ‘rock’ with elephants, but with no success.  It has been oft photographed
for tourist publications, but without this sense of perspective.

13" x 18" (mounted black gatorboard w/mount for hanging)
$145 + packing/shipping (if necessary)
