Stairway Heaven

The architecture of Mysore is rich, with the palace of the maharaja and numerous relics of a prosperous colonial past found throughout the city.  No photography is allowed in Maharaja’s palace, but this image was taken at the eastern gate of the palatial grounds.I spotted this distant shot over the shoulder of the guards who, when I brought my camera up to my eye, told me photography was not allowed here either.  Obviously I ignored them, and glad I did.
