Temple Lovers

The temples of India, at times, provide a quiet respite from the tumult of the villages and towns,
especially in Tamil Nadu where the action on the streets can be quite obtrusive. The main temple dates to the 11th century, dwarfed by huge coconut trees lining the exterior walls of the complex seen here.

These lovers were apparently seeking a quiet moment to themselves, away from the cultural
strictures and prying eyes of family and neighbor who might frown on the intimacy of their rapport
