Kurd or Shahsavan Saddle Bag (complete), Persia, late 19th/early 20th century, 1' 8" x 4' 1"

An extremely colorful, full pile saddle bag that is either Kurd or Shahsavan. Presumably from nw Persia, this colorful saddle bag set ("khorjin") is in a remarkable state of preservation with an absolutely scinitllating palette and beautiful flatweave work connecting the two pile faces. The condition is perfect, with no holes or repairs, and full pile. The colors are all derived from natural dyes of a high quality
