Kuridsh(?) Persian Tribal Jajim, 19th c., 5' 6" x 7" 7"

An extraordinarily colorful and beautifully woven jajim, probably made by Kurds in Central Persia, possibly in the Veramin region. The extraordinary palette suggests this possible provenance. Such pieces were apparently treasured as this weaving only recently emerged from Asia, in pristine condition as if it has never been used.

The condition is good, no holes or repairs, and the colors are all derived from natural dyes.
