Proto Nazca Textile (mounted on white cloth stretched over a wooden frame),
S. Coast of Peru, circa 200BCE, 11" x 2" (actual size of the textile)
| Pre-Columbian textiles have been though to be inaccessible to most in terms of pricing as they are truly ANCIENT. Seldom does anyone have the opportunity to personally enjoy these relics from an ancient past as they have been deemed much too exclusive. Think again, as this lovely fragment of a fringe that would have adorned a garment is accessible. Seen here are birds and pepper corn flowers, extremely colorful camelid fibers, dyed and woven into an attractive composition. |
