Incan Textile, Peru, 16th century, 9" x 10" (excluding tan cloth on which it is mounted)
| A lovely textile from the Incan culture of Peru. Though earlier examples from the pre Columbian cultures of Peru are "more desirable", textiles from this period are not to be scoffed at. the design is wonderful with multi colored stars scattered among squares of design depicting birds, a common them in these textiles.
The condition is relatively good for a textile from this period, light staining on the right edge, otherwise, no blemishes nor holes/repair. |
