Ersari Trapping, Central Asia, circa 1875, 3' 4" x 1' 6"

A very colorful example of Kizil Ayak weaving from the middle Amu Darya region of Central Asia.  The ‘ertman gol’ distinguishes this weaving, identifying the weaving group.  The colors are outstanding with a saturated red as well as classic orange/red contributing to a rich palette and a wonderful ‘look’.

The condition is pretty good, there are a couple small places of minor damage that have been stitched up with white thread (see detail image) but the pile is very luxurious and there are no repairs, no stains, or re-weaves.
