Veramin Mafrash, circa 1870, 2' 11" x 1' 4""
|
An unusual design is seen here on this Veramin region weaving, a design that one might initially associate with soumac technique flatweave work from the Shahsavan. The weave is extremely fine for a Veramin region weaving, the handle is very nice, like a piece of leather in the hand, a feature associated with older weavings. The colors are lovely, all completely saturated and derived from natural dyes. |
