Yomud Turkmen Mafrash, circa 1870, 2' 11" x 1' 4""

A finely woven mafrash depicting a design type more often associated with the asmalyks (five or seven sided trappings for camels used during the wedding procession).  The condition is ok there is something missing from the upper right corner (see detail image), the pile is virtually full but with some minor wear in places (see details).

The colors are vibrantly clear and very saturated, all derived from natural dyes.
